Hindsight 2020 - A Podcast Was Born
As I was working at my desk this week, I came across my Personal Mission Statement and Plan for 2020 that I had made a year ago. And (Wow, if I had only known what I was in for!?! And this plan had - I thought- been forgotten)
One of the things I listed was a podcast.
Then, life happened. A sad reality in my family that required immediate and most of my attention.
I went “radio silent” on social media, put my existing business on hold and was quickly immersed in responsibilities that pulled me away from my steady path.
New Year - 2020 -and before we knew it, the pandemic had us all sheltering in. Which worsened my situation with loved ones who needed me. It was altogether heartbreaking and frightening. I managed as best I could.
Like all of us, I had an enormous amount of time availed to me with the strange reality of sheltering-in. While I did all that I could for my family and spent countless hours navigating all the issues and phone calls, I began to recreate my NEXT. It certainly provided a daily focus outside of the issues I was dealing with.
I reassessed, developed it, got input, reached out to experts, reshaped and revised, edited and redesigned to reflect something that I find so very important - facing change -even embracing it and supporting others around it. It’s about:
Resilience - Reinvention - Relevance.
I couldn’t have foreseen this year…none of us could really. The loss and sadness is personal and also universal as we reset and figure out our NEXT.
I do know that there are many like me who have met challenges and managed change to remain relevant over and over - and have every intention of continuing to. It’s in these stories we can all learn.
As I sat at my desk - the final edit of my FIRST PODCAST Interview was emailed to me. As I listened, tears welled in my eyes for the joy of seeing this goal through in a difficult time, gratitude for those who worked with me and sadness for what has been the experiences of this year.
I am not unique in suffering in 2020 - in fact, I don’t know a single person who has gone through this year without a care. We have all met some kind of loss - if not many.
With loss, after a time, we begin to seek our NEXT. Find our resilience and even reinvent.
