#Reinvent...at all the stages???
Yes. It makes sense for women. Read on...
In my 20's, I entered my career as if I was at the starting line of a relay race. Gun sounds and I am off! Focused. Amped and ready to WIN. (just a tad ambitious...Like so many entering the workforce.) I took on various types of jobs, but being an employee was not my "end game"
That money thing just gets in the way...
I always knew I wanted my own business. I had been doing just that even as a child but I also knew...I had to work. For one, no one was going to pay my bills for me....although that would have been sweet. Two, I needed practical experience. I needed to "see how things worked" out there in the world. I needed to "test my mettle" and see what I was really good at, what I liked and didn't about the field I was in and explore different roles.

I call this period the "Trying On Shoes" phase. Usually the 20's. I gathered as much information as I could and it was scrappy but I prevailed. By 30, I had my own business.
- Phase One- 20's: Learn and Burn years. Gather knowledge. Create a side gig, freelance, or small business if possible. If you have no time..keep your interests kindled. (more on that in my 30 days ( 30 Days of Reinvention Inspiration & Prompts)
Wait! I forgot something....
I achieved my goal. But, I realized I wanted more in life than my career. That is when I changed it all up. (again, I did it in my employee years too) I created another business(house flipping- since I had done so for myself)while raising my little girl. I learned a huge amount while managing home, life, and family. It wasn't easy but I was able to be present for my now...two children(son too)
In my mid-late 30's I started developing an interior design business and it took off.
- Phase Two- 30's: Burn and Earn years. If you want more flexibility in this Phase like I did, consider working virtually, remotely or freelancing. Do this intentionally as you learn and grow in your employment years (20"s)so you have the contacts, stay "in the biz" and continue to earn. Or take the skills you learned and develop a service based business you can do remotely.
Kids in school and I ramped up. I was there for pick up and worked in my home office in the evenings after dinner when necessary.
I found my stride
- Phase Three- 40"s: Turn and Discern years.When you can put your head up and fully enjoy your achievements. By then, I had built an amazing interior design business. Grew the project accumulation to multi-million dollar projects and commercial speculative development.
I have continued to take projects, but selectively. Began mentoring others into their own businesses, sat on boards, consulting, spoke on panels and at universities. I decided I knew it was time to do something meaningful.
My Give Back Years
Phase Four -50's: Yearn years. Ok- I have done what I planned to do...What now?
One of my colleagues is a highly successful coach. She specializes in helping people move to their next phase, career, grow and succeed. The largest age group she works with? 50's. Why? Because this age is experiencing new freedom(kids older/out, more secure) coupled with a desire to do something they feel very connected to. To give back, create and feel joy in their work. Or to prevail on the dream they always had but never pursued.
I am working with women to realize their potential for Self Defined success at any phase. Helping them to "set it up" create it and experience reinvention as many times as they require it.
What speaks to their heart - What fits for them NOW
I have a career, lifestyle freedom and I've designed it AROUND my life. I am experiencing fulfillment and growth.
I am sharing my path, knowledge, and process.... so other women can experience the same.
