New Week....I am going to Stick The Landing.
Work and life are busy for me right now..And while I have a calendar with commitments I cannot get too far into the future or I start to get overwhelmed. Then I am really useless to myself and others because my work isn’t as good. My mind is too distracted.
For me, I need to stay in today, focused and do my best and be ok with that. That’s the key. To not think I have to be perfect but to show up and be present…and honestly, that is the best I can ever offer on any day no matter what.
Nobody is perfect but we can manage the “committee”(our minds) and the overwhelm (our calendars) to be able to be consistent how we work and live. I have to be intentional or the end result starts to get sloppy.
It’s a mindset. I once worked with a professional athlete as a client and he would work with a sports therapist to manage the stress of his work and his mind so he could do what he loved and deliver what he was there to do. It makes sense to get training on mental and emotional management when you have high goals, achieve them….then want to maintain them. (that’s key) Because life gets busy and crazy and just plain difficult.
Knowing that perfection is not a choice but good preparation and tools are…I am better equipped to manage my now and the growth I want to see for my career.
That takes coaches. Mentors. Advisors to turn to for guidance. Keep seeking out those who can best guide your now for results you are seeking. There are a lot of coaches out there and its important to do your due diligence and find the right fit.
But if you want to Stick The Landing and continue to … And enjoy your life….It takes other people who can help you achieve it. If you have high goals, the right coach can get you there. Even Fortune 500 executives use coaches. There is reward in humility and realizing you don’t have all the answers and you are not perfect.
Just like any other profession there are highly skilled, skilled and just ok coaches. Do your due diligence.
Find the right fit and look for advisors and mentors along the way. We all need support to realize our goals
